Gluten Free  Apple Pie

This gluten free apple pie has all of the flavor - and texture - of traditional apple pie... just without the wheat.  Enjoyed by everyone - perfect to serve as a Thanksgiving dessert!

YOU WILL NEED: Gluten Free Pie Crust* Fresh apples Brown sugar White sugar Unsalted butter Cornstarch Large egg Heavy cream Spices Salt     * See the linked post for my fantastic gluten-free pie crust recipe - the cream cheese version is what's pictured in this story!

In a large bowl, combine sugars, cornstarch, spices, and salt. Add apple slices, gently toss to coat.

Simmer apple mixture in melted butter, just until the apples start to soften. Allow to cool to room temperature.

Roll half your dough out, line a pie plate with it.  (Full pie crust use directions are in the linked post!)

Mound cooled apple filling into the lined pie pan, arrange second crust on top.

Whisk together egg and heavy cream, brush over the pie crust.  Bake as directed.

Once cool, chill the apple pie for 2 hours before serving.   Enjoy!
